Should i buy a new graphics card now ?

i have been saving up for a new 1080 and now the prices are inflated like really really inflated, so should i just simply wait, save up for nvidia volta/ampere or buy a cpu

my current system
i7 4790 (non k)
Gigabyte P81-D3
12GB RAM
Zotac Geforce GTX 970
650PSU

Unless there are some games you are desperate to play which your current setup is struggling with; which I'd be surprised at as the 970 should still be perfectly capable (albeit not at max settings) then I would wait. Or go to the nvidia website and you might be able to buy a 1080 at MSRP if you get them to notify you when it comes in stock (and you're quick).
