With the current sale and student discount on samsung drives, I'm opting in to order a 1tb m.2 drive.

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-960-EVO-Internal-MZ-V6E1T0BW/dp/B01LXS4TY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1519409466&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+960+m.2+1tb

The current motherboard I have is an ASRock x99 extreme4/A/ASRK

https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-DDR4-Motherboard-X99-EXTREME4/dp/B00N3V0M92/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1519409401&sr=1-2&keywords=asrock+x99+extreme4

Can this motherboard support the samsung I don't care if it can have the OS put on it or not it would be a bonus but is not a deal breaker.

Solution
Yes, that mobo has an M.2 slot with 4 lanes running at gen 3 speeds. So it should fully support a 960 evo.

Yes you can use it as your C drive with your OS on it.
