No Signal with New Motherboard and CPU.

I just upgraded and installed the following:
- ASUS PRIME Z370-A LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI DVI M.2 USB 3.1 Z370 ATX Motherboard with USB 3.1 for 8th Generation Intel Core Processors
- 2x 4GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 MHz
- Intel i5-8400 LGA1151

The Sata HD has the current GPU driver for an old EVGA GTX660.

The system powers on with no beeps.

I tried a fresh bootup with the GPU installed. Then tried removing the GPU, then the GPU and the bios battery with the monitor plugged into the motherboard DVI outlet. No monitor signal with either of those two fall back options.

Reset the RAM in the second pair of DIMMs with no luck.

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks

It does not appear to have one. I did plug a set of headphones into the Headphkne jack in the MB during the boot attempts though.

I’ve read some other strings on similar topics. The case only 6 of the 9 standoff/screws are in place. The case I replaced with the old MB only had 6 posts in place underneath the old MB.

Tested each RAM slot with no luck. I called ASUS customer service and they are having me return the MB. Hopefully that will resolve it. More to follow with the new MB.

There is a white led light that IS on. Above it are reads “PWR LED”

Listen up folks - - there's little point continuing this discussion until replacement motherboard has been installed by the OP.

OP: When that's been done, start a new thread if problems persist.

Also would like to point out that a change of motherboard requires a fresh install of Windows, about which you have made no mention as far as I can see.

Hi All,
New MB, still no signal to monitor

- New Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E
Motherboard installed.
- 2x Corsair LPX Vengeance 4GB DDR4 3000 MHz Ram DIMMs
- EVGA GTX660 GPU with current drivers installed on the HD
- New Intel i5-8400 CPU

All cables are connected correctly, all 9 standoff’s in place, DIMMs are in the A2 and B2 slots. I’ve tried a single DIMM in A2 and A1.

Also uninstalled the gpu and connected the monitors DVI directly to the MB.

Only LEDs on the MB that have a light on are the PWR LED and the MBs ambient RGB lighting.

Unable to do a fresh Windows install with no monitor signal, there is a new Windows install from the old MB & CPU configuration just before attempting this upgrade.

At this point I am wondering if it is the RAM, CPU, or DVI cable. Note: The monitor was working fine with the old motherboard, cpu, RAM, and current DVI cable.

I have the 24 pin power cord connected. I don’t see an 8 pin but there are two 4pin connectors that are within the same braided cord.

Alex,
Can you help point me in the right direction on the mouse and keyboard. They work in the bios but when I go through booting from the windows cd for a new install they do not appear to have power.
