FX6300 is much better.
The CPU you suggested will require more power, generate more heat and most importantly you will be moving to more older build!
Save your money, save more again and get a Ryzen! It's worth waiting or may be there will be a new better CPU! Just don't move to anymore FX series CPU! I'm not saying it's not good, it's just not worth you valuable money!
It doesn't make much sense upgrading this build just build a new one when you have the right budget!

FX9590 will need a very good board to run anyway and very few 6300 builds have top of the line 990FX boards.

ok so no to 9590.. how about 8350

Not worth it. Your 6xxx series gives you most of the gaming performance you'd get from an 8xxx series CPU.

You are in that awkward position where if what you have now is not enough, you need to move to a new platform.

You could alternatively move to an Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge system. It would be faster and allow to use your older components. The downside is you'd be sinking money into a system that is still behind the curve. Due to prices, right now is a bad time to be building a new computer.

I recently upgraded from fx 6300 by buying a used i5 4460 from my friend and ordering a cheap motherboard online. The whole thing cost me less than 100 dollars and the FPS difference in some games is incredible (CS:GO went from 90-220 fps in 5v5 to stable 180fps). Haswell cpus are still a vey viable option and do not require new ram.

Don't even consider any FX9xxx series processor. Unless you downclock it to a FX8xxx series level, you will need some serious aftermarket cooling, and even then there is no guarantee of stability. Have you overclocked your FX6300? Mine is stable at 4.1Ghz with a Zalman cpu cooler (and a cheap low end motherboard). With a good motherboard and aftermarket cpu cooler, you might get the FX6300 stable at 4.4GHZ or so.

But I wouldn't put any money into a 6+ year old platform, unless the additions can be transferred to a new build (cpu cooler, SSD, etc.)
