CPU going dreadfully slow at 0.8Ghz for an unknown reason

3.2 Ghz AMD Phenom II 1090t 6 core

I was running it at 3.6Ghz just fine for around a year.
Suddenly it's only going 0.8Ghz, though it's actual base speed is 0.2Ghz so it has a multiplier enabled of x4.

I go into BIOS to edit the multiplier to x18. Doesn't work.

Don't know how to fix it. There is no temp. control system that i know of. It doesn't go up no matter what app I run. Changing multiplier does nothing, and changing base speed just doesn't launch windows. There is far more than sufficient power being supplied. Fans are going. Didn't have any hard knock or anything.

If this post seems really short it's because I wrote I really long one into the box on the right hand side, but when I clicked publish, it shoved me into a login screen and didn't save my work.

Hi,
btw: i had that problem with my mail going down the drain as well. Therefore, i always Ctrl-A - Ctrl-C all my work before "sending" or "submitting" since then... :)
Overclocking such a hot headed CPU over longer time may have done damage to your MoBo (i.e. Voltage Regulators, which do get hotter than the CPU in many cases).
If you have the option, have your CPU tested on another MoBo. If that helps, you need a new mainboard.
