I'm running an e8400, basically a piece of trash. I can't install a graphics card since my psu is barely enough for all the system. I was wondering if i should upgrade now to ryzen 1600 or wait until gen 2 comes out. I'm mainly interested in gaming and learning photoshop, after effects & premiere since i can't run them on my current pc. Maybe gen 1 prices drop and i could get a discount. What are the advantages of ryzen 2? If it's just higher clock speed i'm not really interested. I was also considering an i5 8400/i3 8100 + b360 mobos when they come out but intel doesn't have a release date for those chipsets. Z370 is too expensive

Right now i have a 5770 that a friend was using and i'm planning on using it until i save enough for a 1050ti. Will I need the 8400 better performance in games or the better multithread performance of the 1600?

if you grab a cheap ass mobo for that 1600 chances are very good that it is not going to handle ryzen 2 as they have really shitty vrm's

that board is seriously going to cripple your ability to overclock and will most likely not handle ryzen 2 no heatsinks on those vrm's

it may also throttle that 1600 when under stress

you get what you pay for

I could get an msi B350m Bazooka or a Gigabyte Ga Ab350 Gaming for just the same price and the Asus Prime B350-plus for a little more, would any of those be great for overclocking or capable of handling ryzen 2? not planning to use ryzen 7 tho, max would be 1600x or 2600x in april

MSI b350m mortar on the matx mobos

you seriously need to consider a full atx mobo like the asrock pro 4
