Hello I'm just curious what the cheapest way to build a PC atm. For example to build it yourself or on a site like PC specialist. I was just wondering due to the increasing prices of certain parts due to cryptomining

many of us are recommending pre-built. some have nice 1060's and 580's for under 1500$ all in because they are bought in bulk by the vendor. i highly recommend northwest falcon. ibuypowercrap and the like have a huge corner on the market and have poor parts unless you order custom.

Pre-builts with a storage and or psu upgrade are the way to go atm. You can find a lot of them for around 800$ that have a decent cpu and a rx580 or gtx 1060 in them.

Is Northwest Falcon US based cause I will probably will use a UK/EU due to delivery costs and whatnot. I was going to use PC specialist cause I could built a PC with a 1080 near a £1000 price tag

Sounds like a plan. Some are charging $1000 for just the 1080.

Well 80%+ of your budget will be spent on the 1080. Then all you get is an underpowered system holding a 1080 back. For that budget you should be happy to get a 1060 6gb or rx 580. A 1070 if really lucky to find a good deal.

Okay thanks for the responses guys. If you want to suggest some websites I can use that would be really appreciated, they will have to be UK/EU websites though due to delivery costs from other places overseas.

Erm it was a pre built for like £800 with a 1060 but I swapped that with a 1080 and it went up to like £1100 https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/view/Vortex-1000/ (the PC I was looking at)

I can change the PSU that's all good, does the rest seem good though the only thing I was thinking about changing was the gpu and processor tbh. It's cold here but not as cold as it would be in Canada lol

You think I will be able to put the link I used and go from there? I honestly think someone could tell me what parts to use via that website. I really know about the gpu and processor I'm a bit clueless about the other parts like the mobo and psu for example
