Onboard ETHERNET not working after CMOS reset

Hello!
I was playing with some settings in my BIOS the other day and I ended up being stuck, unable to boot so I reset my CMOS by removing the battery. I thought everything was working fine again until I tried to go online and my ethernet port was acting weird.

It is recognized by windows, device manager says it's working properly, when I plug in a cable it recognizes it but I get no network access (No IP or anything either, cant access the router for example).

My setup is a MSI Mortar z270M

I've searched on a lot of forums and tried the following in this sequence.
- I checked the LAN PORT was enabled in the BIOS, it is.
- I loaded the optimzed defaults for my BIOS.
- I tried the windows troubleshooting and diagnosis
- In device manager I uninstalled the device and let it install it again.
- I upgraded my BIOS to the latest version
- I updated to the latest INTEL onboard Ethernet drivers from the MSI support website.

I'm a bit confused about what to do now, so to be clear. It recognizes the cable, the yellow warning sign comes and thats it. In the network center it stays stuck at identifying and access type is no network access.

Should I attempt another CMOS reset[/strike]? Any other tips?

EDIT: another CMOS reset didn't help either :(
