I own this laptop for over a year now (it's still under warranty) and last 3 months i noticed this weird quiet clicking sound i did some research and i found out that this clicking sound is know as "the click of death" bit in examples it sounded much louder than on my laptop, but if I service the laptop and there is no problem I would just waste my time and i don't have time to do the surface test

Here is the sound: https://soundcloud.com/user-184442505/clicking

edit: i am currently doing the surface test i will update you with the result

hope this problem gets solved :)
;)

P.S. I already backed up my data
P.S.2 The laptop model is asus x552mj

RMA the hard-drive -- I believe the warranty will allow you to carefully remove the old HD and install the replacement HD; check the warranty print before proceeding. And, of course, fully format the HD before sending it in. I hope you have made the manufacturer's Rescue / Install DVD set.

if it's the hard drive then a simple replacement is all that is needed. you can send it in for service or just buy a new hdd or ssd and install it yourself.

i can't hear the clicking on your audio track but i've heard the "click of death" before so i'm familiar with it. that sound is unmistakable and is always the hdd. never heard anything else on a pc that sounded like it so i'd be pretty confident you got the right idea in what's wrong.
