My CPUs running a hot?

Hi, I recently upgraded my PC and now my specs are:
GTX 1080 Ti
i7-8700k - 4700 MHz - Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler
EVGA 650W
MSI Z370-A-PRO

I've now noticed my CPU temps are a bit high and I'm wondering if there's anything wrong and if there's anything that can be done?

Across all cores Im getting an average of 80-90°C and maxes between 97-100°C.

Solution
those speeds are turbo speeds, they're probably not the issue, I would look at undervolting though. It's not that complicated. Take control of the voltage(take it off auto), and the slowly lower the voltage and do cpu stress tests, till the system crashes, then add back a little voltage. It's the same basic principles as overclocking, but you're leaving the clock speeds alone. Lowering the voltage to the minimum that's necessary to run your stock speeds stably, will help reduce your temps some.

Way to high , what do you run for a cooler?

While I've never checked, I'm sure there's a youtube video that will show you how to do it. Pull it off, clean up all the old TIM, re-apply TIM(the video will show you that too, or at least should, if not, there's videos that show you that too). Then re-mount the cooler, tightening the screws in manner like you would tighten the bolts on a car tire(opposite, in a star pattern). Hook the fan(s?) up to the mobo, go into the bios, find the fan controls(going to be in one of the menus on the right side, probably the top one), set your curve(probably start to ramp up the fan speed in the 45-55 degree range, with the fan speed maxed in about the 65 degree range).

He might want to consider undervolting the chip and running it at stock speeds, until he gets a really beefy cooler. 6c/12Ts is a lot to cool.

Have you looked at the Thermal paste recently? Maybe it could do with a fresh re-application.

Consider a water cooler for the best experience. My personal favourite: Antec Mercury 360 (triple fan). Keeps me i7-4790 at around 25C idle.

I just installed it yesterday with new thermal paste so I doubt that's the problem.

Anyway looking through the BIOS my CPU should not be overclocked but running at 3,7 GHz but when I boot up and check the frequency is 100 x 47/44 (4700MHz).
