Second Switch Not Working

So basically I have WOW! internet that goes into a router, modem, and a switch. The switch has an Ethernet cable plugged into it that goes through the attic, and ends at an RJ-45 Ethernet port in another room. I am trying to connect another 5 port switch into that port. Any other device plugged into the wall jacks, or directly into the switch works perfectly fine, but this second switch I am trying to hook up just doesn't seem to be working. It is not faulty, as I have bought 4 of the same type and I have tried all four of them. I basically have the switch plugged into the wall jack to receive the signal, then I have my Xbox One, PS4, and PC plugged into it. As of now, only the Xbox One seems to be working. The other ones don't. My PS4 says it cannot obtain an IP address. My PC says the Ethernet cord is unidentified and it is not receiving internet. I am not very good with networking, but I am assuming that it is because both the PS4 and PC don't have IP addresses assigned to them? Since I'm also assuming the one IP address that is assigned to whatever gets plugged into the wall jack is being used for the Xbox One. If someone can please provide some help, that would be much appreciated. Btw I am using unmanaged switches, and I do not pay for a static IP address. I saw somewhere that said I needed a router to assign IPs, but I'm not sure, and I don't want to spend money on a product if I don't need it. I also already have Wi-Fi in this room, but my Ethernet is much faster at 1 gbps. Also, when I plug the devices directly into the wall, they all connect perfectly fine. Thank you in advance!

Both devices are netgear gigabit switches. One of them (the main one) is 48 ports, and the other one is 5.

The way the technician from WOW! set it up, is that both the router and modem are connected to a coax cable from a splitter, and the modem plugs into the WiFi and the switch. The router just plugs into the phone line. The big switch works just fine, but the small switch that is plugged into the wall jack (basically plugged into the big switch) only works for one of the devices connected. The others say they don’t have an IP address.
