Hello Total War Gamers. Can you tell me what is the best budget GPU and Monitor for Rome II? Is it fine to use GTX 1050 under 1080p? Should I use G Sync monitor to prevent screen tearing if I use GTX 1050? Should I use IPS or TN?

For Gsync I have had 3xAsus ROG Swift monitors and a gsync ROG laptop. Gsync had no noticeable effect on perceived performance. As with pretty much any TW game, once battle starts, FPS drops will be brutal no matter the hardware. Screen tearing was never an issue; low FPS becomes the issue; especially in larger battles with mods like Divide et Impera.

TN looks terrible with washed out colors; but if your budget is tight it is a cheaper option. GTX 1050 will be fine for 1080p, but not maxed out settings. You will need to fiddle with settings; I recommend setting AA to MLA.

Here's what I would look at on a budget:

The G4560 is a Pentium dual core WITH hyper-threading, so essentially equivalent to an i3 for gaming. And a lot cheaper.
