i have hp pavilion 15n204tx with intel i5 4200u CPU. I want to replace it with i5 8600k. is it possible?

No, lots of things wrong with with that. First and foremost that CPU is soldered to your motherboard, it is not upgradeable. Second that is a haswell mobile processor, it uses a different socket than a coffee lake 8600k desktop processor. Third that laptop would likely never be able to handle the heat or power demands of an 8600k.
