I have a fake gt 730 that i bought from a fake buyer in chinese store online.
Then i have found out that it is a gt 430 ( the chip number is a - GF108-300-A1). The current bios have 4gb of ddr5 memory but i noticed that it was a 2gb card because of all the games crashing then going past 2gb memory mark. Is there a way that i can flash a gt 430 bios?
NVflash did not work and i couldn't pass and gave me a "GPU mismatch" error.

Solution
Seriously you aren't giving up upon GTX 4 or 5 series? You could buy HD 5850 for 40$? R7 250 2GB (look for GDDR5) same 40$? 7850?(sorry i didn't mean to be harsh on you).
You can get better and cheaper used (on local site probably).
I can agree thats wasting time, unless you wanna to learn something (with @Barty1884).
Googling may help, Reddit is also viable option. But if some thing is hard coded it can be coded only by proper hardware/software.

Because if you flash GPU it doesn't flash the whole bios but 3/4 of it because the last bit is your GPU information basic level (it doesn't matter how many times you flash it it keeps saying that its 730 instead of GTX 4XX or 5XX) same as bios flashing of motherboard, last 1/4 is your windows...
First thing, if you bought this using any sort of credit card or PayPal, file a dispute for the fake card to get your money back.

Second thing, put the card in the trash and get a real card, don't try to just chase the cheapest thing you can find unless it's a local sale and you can test the card, as you found out it ends up costing you more at the end.

nvflash should allow you to flash, even with a mismatch? It's an "at your own risk" thing, but should still be possible.
What does the error say, specifically? Could you post a screenshot of your commands?

Out of curiosity, why can't you file a dispute? Unless you paid Western Union, you should have some protection from your CC company, or PayPal etc?

I can't type anything into nvflash but I can drag and drop a .ROM file on it and it opens a cmd window and then tries to flash but I get a GPU mismatch error. I'll post pictures then I get back home.

Yes, a bit odd you can't get your money back from your bank or PayPal, I guess if you used some crypto currency or Western Union which are pretty much cash but that is a HUGE flag there there is something not right with the seller if they want to use those payment methods, and another flag would be a "great" deal on a card.

That doesn't sound like nvflash.... dropping a .ROM file isn't going do do anything really, if you've not provided the commands beforehand.

Look at what hang-the-9 has said before proceeding, but to flash, I'd do this:

Create an "nvflash" folder directly on your C drive. Make sure NVFlash64 and the .ROM file you require are located in that folder.

Disable your GPU (GT730) in device manager.

Run an elevated CMD (as administrator).
cd C:\nvflash
nvflash64 --list
**Assuming your card shows as #0, if not, replace the 0 with the appropriate number**
Nvflash64 --index=0 -6 NAMEofROMFILE.ROM

Replace "NAMEofROMFILE.ROM" with whatever your 'new' ROM file is called.

It'll then verify etc, and should highlight an error (they don't match) and ask you to override.
If you're confident you've got the correct .Rom, then confirm with "Y" and you'll probably have to confirm with "Y" again a second time.

Then let it do it's thing.

Can you perhaps link the "730" you bought? A HT9 mentioned, there are cards where this *could* be a 730....

While it's entirely possible it has a "fake" BIOS on it, it's harder* to amend the board ID and Device ID - which both = a 730 right now
*Not impossible, but I don't believe the 'fakes' waste there time spoofing these..... the people buying the fake cards typically don't look at it and wouldn't (generally) understand the difference anyway, so it's not really worth their time.

I cant link it but its a https://imgur.com/a/e7UoC chip , i bought it from a friend and he bought it from online shopping app of some sort. It has 4 sd vram chips but they're not 1gb ddr5 each because games are crashing when they hit 1+gb vram mark so a quick google search told me that it is a gt 430 with 1gb? vram, not sure. Here's a link to amazon post that looks same as mine: https://www.ebay.com/itm/nVIDIA-GeForce-GT730-4GB-GDDR5-128Bit-PCI-Express-Game-Video-Card-Graphics-Card-/332308890519

Well if i can't fix it with software flashing im definitely not going to buy that kit and do a hardware flash.
Guess this is the end of the post unless you have more ideas that might work.

True, true i could buy a used one from amazon or such that is better than this 430 and be happy with it. Perhaps i will do that.

There are all sorts of things wrong with that card, first, the GDD5 GT730 has a 64 bit bus, that listing shows it as 128.
Second, every GDDR5 730 I have seen has a max of 2GB of memory. In fact if you do a web search for 730 GDDR5 4GB, this ebay card is the only one that comes up. You also did not say you got it from a friend, you said "you bought it from a fake buyer", which is why there are posts about talking to your CC company. Need to list the correct information in the post so people don't waste time.

Looks like your friend won LOL, he got rid of a crappy card.
