Terrible FPS in-game CSGO after Installing OBS

Hey,
I just upgraded my PC's CPU from an i7 6700k to an i7 8700k, since I wanted to stream more efficiently. I restarted windows (I also got a new MOBO) and installed all the GPU and MOBO drivers. I installed CSGO and went into an FPS benchmark map where I would average 500-600 fps. I then installed OBS and began streaming where my FPS dropped dramatically from 500-600 to 100-120. I realised that I was having the same problem with my previous CPU so I closed OBS, uninstalled it and restarted my PC, however my CSGO still wont go past 120fps, even though OBS is gone. I have no idea what the problem is and really need help, perhaps it has switched to integrated graphics or something but I just don't know.
Thanks.

PC Specs:
CPU: i7 8700k
GPU: GTX 1080
MOBO: Gigabyte AORUS Ultimate Gaming
RAM: 16gb DDR4
SSD: 240GB
HDD: 2TB
COOLING: Corsair H100iV2

i'm not expert on this matter, but if you are running dual displays and obs is open on your 2nd screen it may be limiting it to the refresh rate that your display is capable of. For a more fluid video.

Perhaps so, but it wouldn't go past around 100, not sure if that is equivalent to the monitors refresh rate. Besides I have uninstalled OBS and restarted the PC multiple times and the FPS still wont go past 120.

Did you double check to make sure vsync was disabled. Maybe obs or nvidia control panel enabled it when you installed obs

Check nvidia control panel to see if it's disabled there. If all else fails just uninstall then reinstall nvidia driver. I had the same problem with rocket league earlier this year but I didn't have obs. I was getting 70fps on a 1440p 144hz display with a gtx 1080. Reinstalled nvidia and it fixed it.

VSYNC was turned off in NVIDIA control Panel, I just reinstalled all NVIDIA Drivers and still nothing, clearly OBS has enabled/disabled something on my PC and always seems to do so but i'm not sure what that is.
