I have recently purchased a 1050ti for my system, but my cpu is holding me back. The only problem is that I am clueless when it comes to cpus, i was wondering if anyone could take a look at my system and tell me some compatible cpus for it. Thanks!

Don't try to replace the motherboard in a prebuilt PC, that will only cause you issues/grief and will invalidate your copy of Windows.

If you upgraded to something like a Core i7 970 or 980 you would not have to essentially bin the entire PC. That's about all you can do with that system. Given you have a 1050 Ti, you could still play games on a decent Core i7 first gen just fine. Will you have CPU bottlenecks, well depends on the game. A 1050 Ti will not get bottlenecked by a Core i7 970 unless it's a very CPU demanding game.

If you want more performance, you would want to upgrade to a newer platform/rebuild.

If you had something like a 1070 GTX I'd say yes rebuild no matter what as the best CPU for your platform would still hold...
