Hello there,

I cut the power supply to my PC every night after shutting it down, I remove it from the socket in the wall.
Since a few weeks my PC would not power up immediately after plugging the cable back to the wall, I have to wait 2-10 minutes until I can see the lamp on the MOBO turns on and then I can turn it on.
The CMOS battery is ok. tried to change it but the result was the same.
Could I have damaged the PSU by cutting the power?
what could be the cause for it not powering up immediately?
Could it be the MOBO?

Thank you for your time.

Itay

There is no need to switch off the PSU every night or unplug the PSU from the wall socket - - - heck, many PC users (including me) don't even shut down their PC - - - they/I just put it in to sleep mode overnight.

Mine only gets shut down & unplugged if I need to clean inside the case or install a component, or if I go on holiday.

It'll be kinder on your PSU & your PC if you didn't religiously shut it down & unplug it every night - - - and quite safe.

Thank you for answering.

The last 2 nights I put it in sleep mode and on the following mornings I found it turned off.
I got this PSU in August 2015 and still have the older PSU.
I will try to use the older one to see if anything changes.
