Hi guys wondering if you can help me. I've recently upgraded my old palit gtx 660 for a shiny asus rx 580 8gb. Unfortunately upon booting I get 1 long beep and 3 short ones and it doesn't pass POST. Google tells me this is the motherboard not seeing the gpu. There is a white led above the pcie power 6+2 connection so the card has signs of life. I've updated bios successfully as heard that might help. I have changed pcie ports for the card and cleaned and dusted the entire inside of the case.

My setup:
Motherboard: asus z87-k
Power: corsair tx650
CPU: Intel i7
Drive: Seagate barracuda 1tb hdd

I'm literally out of ideas and just want to get it sorted so any help will be fantactic.

Solution
Your power supply is good enough to run the card, although that may be the issue. If you can test the card in another system with a good PSU, do that, will rule out things pretty quick that way. If card works, something in your system is the issue, if card does not work elsewhere, card is bad.
