A few questions regarding my 1080ti build

I want to build a pc around a gtx 1080ti. I already have a list of the parts that i want to buy but i have a few questions regarding the build and some of the components.

The parts i want to buy are:

cpu: ryzen 7 1700x
cpu cooler: amd ryzen wraith spire 95w socket am4
motherboard: asus prime-x370-pro
gpu: msi gtx 1080ti armor 11g oc
hdd: western digital caviar black series 1tb
g-skill trident z rgb 2x8gb 3200mhz
psu: antec edg650 edge 650w gold psu modular
case: fractal design def-c-bk-tg define c tg

The questions i have regarding these parts are:
1) Is anything in the list unnecessarily expensive? Is anything too cheap?
2) I read somewhere that the msi gtx 1080ti armor has cooling issues. Should i get a cooler with it or should i get the msi gaming x instead?
3)Should i get the same psu but with 750w?
4) Should i get a dark rock 3 instead of the cpu cooler i picked?

Solution
Hey there!
Well looking at the questions ill go from 1 -4
1. The rams, could me different, i know different brands at those speeds can be found cheaper, but if u want the looks, etc then stick with it.
2. If its not an issue get the 1080TI from asus strix, it has overall better performance and has better cooling.
3. The psu is more then enough for what you plan and intend on using.
4. the one you picked will do just fine, the dark 3 is nice if you want rgb effect, but the one you picked is fine even for OC

Thanks a lot, saved me a lot of money on the rams! Unfortunately, im ordering the parts from a certain store and it doesnt have the strix. I forgot to ask: is the overall build any good?

We can't see what you're going to pay for it so there isn't an answer. In general GFX card prices are insanely overpriced.

I've seen that too. I chose EVGA's 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid.

With its integrated AIO cooler it does stay in the 30's and 40's when gaming at 1080p. I have to exceed that resolution to bring it above 50c.

That PSU has plenty of power for the 1080 Ti and OC'ing and more upgrades such as more drive space.

Yes. The pro is just $10 more and it includes a second fan.

Depends on the game. I might play on 1440p 120fps or in 4k.

I forgot to mention, both of the cards are pretty much the same price, the gaming x is a little bit more expensive.

1440p 120 hz the ryzen is not good enough for any kind of newer game harder to run than overwatch
it struggles to maintain 60 - 90 fps on any kind of cpu bound game

high refresh rate gaming is the sole domain of intel builds

you will be severely dissapointed after spending this amount on a subpar choice

you need to go 8600k/8700k build, ryzen is really not a good pairing with a 1080 ti at standard resolutions with high refresh rates
