To start, I have been having issues gaming the last few days because of my internet connection and I've grown sick of it. I disconnect from every other game I play of Rainbow Six Siege. I currently have my router on the first floor in the dining room and its wire is fed through a vent leading to the basement. My room, where my PS4 is, is only one room away but I have 6 other people that use the connection in the house. I would like to hardwire my router to the PS4 but alas, the wire for the router is fed from the basement and into the dining room. Moving this wire would be difficult and I don't have any good places to feed the wire into my room. Are there any good alternatives for improving my connection to prevent this issue? Any solutions? Any advice is helpful but know that I'm not too knowledgeable on things regarding wifi. Thanks!

Well if wifi is indeed causing your issue and it's not just a poor internet in general from your ISP, then there are some options. First I would run a speedtest on your PS4, if it has one. If not download the ookla speedtest app on your phone and run the test right next to your PS4. Then run the test on a hard wired computer or other device, if latency and speeds are the same what I am going to suggest below wont do anything for you.

A powerline adapter is a device you plug into a wall outlet near your router, you then plug in a Ethernet cable from your router into the adapter. You then plug another powerline adapter into the wall near your PS4, then plug another ethernet cable from that adapter into the PS4. Powerline adapters...

Powerline adapters essentially use the wiring of your house as an ethernet cable, so you don't have to run ethernet cables all over the place. This can be hit or miss depending on how your house is wired up, this tends to work better in newer houses with modern wiring.
