I am currently in the situation of fixing a laptop from work which runs a professional version of windows 7. Currently it will not boot and needs the repair disk. I don't have a pro version installed on a disk but I do have a home version. Can this be used to repair a pro version?

Can't be sure, but worth a try. I've been using Win7 since forever and it's repair disk magically worked just once. You can also enter command prompt from the repair disk and use some commands to rebuild/repair bcd (google it, it's been 2 years since I did that) and it could work.

Also, it'd help what exactly is happening when you say "it will not boot"

So, just put the CD in, boot from it, click "repair your computer" and see if it can work. (Worst case it simply won't work)
