Hi to all!

i have an urgent question, and it's very simple.

xfx hd7850 2gb or xfx rx460 2gb?

main played game will be Dota 2. system is win7 x64 with 6gb of 1066mhz ram,cpu is quad-core q9650 oc'ed to 4.0ghz. which card would perform better in this game? slower older gpu and slower memory with 256-bit bus, more rop's,tmu's and shaders OR faster newer gpu and much faster memory with 128-bit bus? i ask about this game?

Thank you guys..

Both cards are in the same class, entry level gaming, so I'd go with the newer tech 460. Don't focus too much on memory bus/stream processor type comparisons. They don't directly compare, as the HD 7850 dates from 2012 and a lot has changed since then such as efficiency.

edit: One argument in favor of the 7850 is guaranteed compatibility. There's an outside chance your motherboard could have trouble with a 460.

well,i was very dissapointed with rx460. the only good things about her was very low heat level and low noise. the rest of the things were absolute crap. i had just about 120 fps max with rx460 in dota 2. bad thing was that this card wont overclock at all. i just got it stable from 1220 to 1260hz gpu core clock and that's all. it was too low overclock level for me,so i found an asus dcu II gtx580 with a giant cooler for LESS money then this crap. temperatures are pretty low in idle, about 35-40 maybe. i toke it and and had about 127fps with stock settings, but very soon i managed to overclock it very well and got about 145fps in dota2. now i'm trying to oc even more and get 150fps stable. max voltage for my asus model is 1150mV. of course, there's a posibility that my previous rx460 model was faulty or incompatible with my old asus p5q mobo. i know that gtx580 is power hungy, but managed to get a new psu for her with 450w on 12v rail and im happy with her. thank you guys anyways :))
