Pc won't turn on no lights no fan spinning.

My pc worked fine with no issues until I recently bought a new cpu liquid cooler (raidmax cobra 240) and installed it. I only took out the cpu connector the 24pin motherboard connector and low and behold when I plugged everything back in nothing worked. There are no fans spinning no power button led's, the only light showing is the one on the motherboard (standard orange light) and green lights near the power connector of the GPU.

There is no physical damage on the motherboard or cpu the cpu pins aren't bent I didn't spill any thermal paste on the cpu or motherboard I only applied a pea size so it can spread evenly over the cpu.

I took my entire pc apart reassembled the bare necessities the one stick of ram cpu and GPU and stock cpu cooler to see if it will turn on and nothing happens.

I tested the power supply by putting a paperclip in the green wire and the adjacent black wire and the power supplys fan started spinning which makes me believe the cpu or motherboard might be bad.

If someone might have an idea or at least some advice please let me know

Specs are:
Asus a320m-k prime am4 mobo
Asus gtx970 mini
Ryzen 3 1200 3.1ghz cpu
Adata xpg 2800mhz 2x8gb ram
550wat Huntkey evergreen psu

Try the old cpu cooler to see the PC will work or not. If it does, that means you installed the liquid cooler impropely. If the PC will not boot even using the air cooler, that means the PC or the component(s) maybe damge during you install the new liquid cooler.

Try hotwiring it. Remove the power button's cable from the front panel headers on the motherboard, and short both of the pins with a flat bladed screwdriver.
This would help you determine if the button is faulty or not.

Okay so I've tried that it doesn't seem to work. The motherboards lights turn on. I did use a flat head screwdriver with a magnetic tip will it make a difference? And when I tested the psu with a paper clip I plugged 2 led fans in the molex connector to see if it will light up and spin... And it did. Can it be a possibility that the psu only has enough power to power a few fans and not the motherboard with the ram and cpu installed?

Nope, it doesn't matter whether it's magnetic or not. Provided you've had the main (24 PIN) connector plugged into the motherboard, it should've turned on.
And no, your theory is highly unlikely. That said, while the issue appears to be with the motherboard, it doesn't mean it's a total loss just yet.
Try resetting the BIOS configuration. Remove the power cord, then remove the round battery from the motherboard, leave it out for 2 hours, then put it back in, put the power cord back, and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the help guys but I decided to take it at my nearest pc store so they can have a look at it, turns out my power supply was not giving enough power out and I bought a faulty liquid cooler that wouldn't turn on so I bought a new psu and installed the stock cooler and the PC booted up without any problems.

Thanks again for all the help!
