Pixelated Vertical Pink Line on startup and win 10 wont start (R9 280X)

Hello Guys,

I am posting in Tom's Hardware Forum 2nd time in my life, last time it was 3 years ago,

The point is when i started my pc today i saw 2 pixelated pink vertical lines on startup then after windows loading screen the display has gone.

I accidentally got mobility radeon HD 4300 series graphic card in my home too so i seated it into the pci express slot and connect it to the monitor and windows boots up without any pixelated line or whatever, but it is bad resolution (1024 X 768) because this mobility card does not support 1080p sadly.

So, My question is that My R9 280X is really dead or there is any way possible the problem is with the mobo or psu or pci express slot ?

Or, should i do anything to get the life back into my r9 280x (it is died after only one year of service in our country buying a new gaming graphic card is a real fortune so it was refurbed)

My specs

CPU: Xeon E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40 GHZ
GPU: Sapphire Vapour-X R9 280X 3GB
Ram: 8GB DDR3
Mobo: Intel DH61CR (HWMONITOR SAID)
PSU: Cooler Master 700Watt PSU With 2 6-pin power connector

It's likely either the GPU or Power Supply.
By getting the Radeon HD 4300 to work doesn't necessarily mean that the R9 280x is at fault.
The PSU could still be the culprit, and just can't provide for that power hungry GPU.
If you look at * THIS LIST * , you'll see that Cooler Master PSU's are all over the spectrum in terms of quality. Be nice to try another GOOD PSU and rule that out.

Dear dudio thanks for the suggestion.

As u suggested i went to the computer store for the card diagnosis and they seated it into the asus motherboard and plug it with 1250watt gaming power supply and the same problem presist but windows boots up as it was low resolution montitor they have connect and they said your card have gone... Now becuse of Crytocurrency mining there is huge amount of rise in gpu prices especially in our country they said eve n new gtx 1050 ti will cost me rs 27,000 ($290) which is not even same powerfull as my r9 28x. Btw im not aware of todays gpu prices but i really dont understand what to do next.

After returning home i plug it again and start win 10 in a safe mood and it boots up but pixelates lines is still there but this time they are im white color.

Can you guys pls tell me what to now. Or go for another new gpu and close this thread by making believe that my card is dead.

Or anything i do to get the life back into r9 280x ?

Update: in safe mood im unable to start some program i think i can unstall my newest driver and install older one but the unstaller is stucked in the middle.

yeah i understant that but which card do you recommend me to buy ( i will buy new card this time with atleast 3 year warranty) but let me know if the replacing the PSU is still necessary as it is old one some cooler master brand not sure about the Model NUmber...

Pls suggest one of them GPU to buy,

GTX 1050 TI or RX 470 or GTX 770 ???

SO, Guys i bought GTX 1050TI ZOTAC OC 4Gb

And i run Furmark and its giving me the avg of 44fps, here R9 280X giving me the avg of 66Fps...

WHAT IS THAT... the info spread throught out the internet that this is similar in performance with R9 280X

also i want to ask is there any trick to MSI AFTERBURNER as it sets the power limit to 100% automatic (this card has no PCI E Power Connector) so any trick with the power settings with this 1050TI while playing heavy graphical games ?

You have to unlock voltage control in settings. I would recommend being careful here as the 1050ti is a low power card. I had one and I got good results with +175 core clock and +350 mem clock +10% on voltage/power. Make sure to run stress test to make sure it's stable, ymmv

BTW On MSI afterburner power limit is automatically sets to 100% , so your really thing i should mess around with voltage setting as my motherboard is not like gaming mobo its just 3rd gen Intel DH61CR...

and offcource there is no pce express power connector slot it this card. pretty much smaller and heavy performance i've heard it is made for just gaming purpose... but its was really expensive because of the crytocurrency mining. noneoftheless im happy to having one, i always wanted nvidea gpu.

Oky, i got it,

there is three kind of option

1 Unlock voltage control
2 Unlock voltage monitoring
3 Force constant voltage\

Are u really sure it will even after unlocking and injecting extra voltage it doesnt effect on the board power or any distability on the card ?
