Hello guys i have a dark rock 3 cooler with its 135mm fan on push
now i got my new i7 and its allot hotter so i thought of a push pull config
now the question is what kind of fan do i need?
i have the noctua nf-f12 in mind but i dont know how good it will get .
should i use the noctua in push it has more static pressure, place the noctua as pull or get an air flow fan and use it as pull and leave the coolers stock fan the same? whats the best setup

No idea. Because of differences in blade designs, fan sizes, speeds etc you are the only one who can tell the difference. It could very well be that at low rpm, the Noctua-push/stock-pull will show lower temps than stock-push/Noctua-pull, due to Noctua higher SP. But at high rpm, the stock higher cfm may just switch that around and you get better temps with stock-push/Noctua-pull. It's a gamble and since no one really has done that specific setup and tested it, no one can give a definitive answer.

Most ppl would just buy another stock fan. That'll fit the 135mm sizes better, looks better and far less chance of blade chatter due to different fan speeds (pwm turns off/on at a specific rate for the primary fan, got nothing to do with rpm on a second fan).

just to add some info i believe the dark rock 3 is made to take a 120mm on the other end as pull
i really dont know how much benefit will i get with another fan on pull maybe its not even worth deciding how to set it up
it will cost me almost the price of another fan just to ship it to where i live

i used to have a 6600k and idle temps where 25c max 60-70 now with 7700k its so much hotter with idle temps 35-40c and while gaming 75-80 sometimes it reaches 82 im not comfortable with that really and what i really hate is how hard to adjust the fan curve even opening a simple thing on desktop sometimes it goes up to mid 50's which makes the fan on the cpu sound so annoying ramps up and go back like always
what do you recommend with the fan curve i cant go for dead silent curves with these kind of temps idk really maybe im not used to it
my cpu is barely overclocked i always go simple with overclocks its on 4.7 and 1.264 volts going higher need like 1.35 which make things alot worse

and with stress tests it scares the hell out of me with this cpu it reaches the 90's with these low volts but its pretty stable now.

thanks for your help.

what im thinking now is trying to get the best performance out of buying some new fans making things a little cooler and easier to manage. ill get some new case fans the ones i have started to make weird sounds they are old..
a good quality 120mm exhaust fan the one installed now is a crappy cheap fan ill get the noctua af
and maybe a SP pull fan on the cooler
what do you think am i thinking this right or ill jus be paying money for no improvement.
