Hi
I an building a gaming PC based on a Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge 72 small. I.e. I nede a low profile video card.
The specs are:
I5-3470s
12 GB Ram
PSU changed to 300w
Normal 500GB harddisk

I only play CS GO

My question is: Will it make an valuable difference to go for the more expencive 1050ti card instead of the normal 1050?

Or maybe the 1050+a SSD harddisk?

Thanks

Don't just say "only get 4 to 6 more FPS" without stating the average FPS as it's a meaningless statement then. If it was 100FPS then 6FPS is 6%. If it was 40FPS it's 15%.

I do agree more than 2GB seems pointless for CSGO at this performance level.

The GTX1050Ti is technically about 33% more powerful than a GTX1050 though my quick research suggests you may find yourself more CPU bottlenecked in part due to resolution but also how demanding the multi-player can be on a CPU (especially larger maps).

agree, some say the ti model is a small upgrade and not worth the money.

Buying an ssd might help decrease loading time.but the gfx card upgrade is really just a waste of money because you'll only get 4 to 6 more fps.but rather you should think on saving money fot upgrading cpu later

So this is an existing system and you are just mainly adding a graphics card?

So I agree a GTX1050Ti likely won't add much, but if the cost difference isn't huge AND you think you may want to play OTHER GAMES at some point then more than 2GB of VRAM may be important then.

Other:
There's also no VGA out capability (without an addon, powered converter), and make sure you have the output you need as some cards may only have DP + DVI or HDMI + DVI.

1050 will be fine for very simple, single thread games like cs:go and many others. What it won't be fine for is games like pubg or BF1 or gta5 and that's not including the games like Mechwarrior Mercs5 slated to drop in Q4.

By buying the 1050,you are setting limits barely above what it takes for 1 game you currently are addicted to. If you branch out to others, you are sunk. Not the best idea when spending a good chunk of cash. For a few $ more you get double the vram and a faster, stronger card more capable of handling any game at decent settings.

But an SSD will help tremendously with lag times, can always tell the players on hdd, they take forever to drop.
