I dont really know what you mean with reposition but i asume you mean that you want to get a different angle.
If the cooler is on the processor for not more than 15minutes and it didnt get hot you wont need extra paste i think. But it sits longer (and you cant pull it of due to the stickyness) you can better use a paste remover and simply just put new paste on it.
