Hi not very good at explaining so I'll so my best I have a amd a8 6600k and before I had no issues with temps but I just upgraded gpu and put a gtx 960 4gb in my pc and now my cpu is reaching 80-90 Celsius which couldn't be healthy I have a stock cooler on the cpu just wondering if buying a cheap cooler master would do the trick but I dunno anything about changing the cooler could anyone help to chose a cooler if it needs one thanks

Solution
First of all, try using AMD Overdrive to get your CPU temps. Many CPU temp programs get the wrong temps with AMD processors especially older ones. You may not have a temperature issue at all and could just be getting bad readings.

I would start by opening the side panel of the case and seeing if the temps improve. If you suddenly have temperature problems after installing a new graphics card then it is because the PC case cannot cool itself with the fans/airflow it has. Graphics cards dump a lot of heat into the PC case.

If CPU temps don't improve with the side panel open, then I would recommend reinstalling the CPU cooler with new thermal paste. Also make sure all dust is blown out of the PC case and the CPU fan first before...

I havnt changed cpu I had integrated graphics then brought a 960 and now my cpu is getting slot hotter because of the heat from the gpu and I'm not sure what to do my first thought was to buy a new cpu cooler that has the copper piping and stuff to dissipate the heat quicker

Get a thermal paste is cheap and efficient.
Apply it on the middle of the CPU and spread it with a credit card, make sure that it's a thick equal layer.
Also as you take your CPU cooler off, take the fan off and clean it including the heatsink for better airflow.

ah ok, no cpu upgrade, but video card upgrade, and now your getting CPU heat issue? how did you check the temperature of your CPu to say you have this
issue ? have you confirm the temperature problem using HWINFO in sensor mode ? have you made sure you did not disconnect the cpu fan by mistake ?

can you take a picture of the inside of your computer and post the image here, I am curious what other ventilation you have inside.

Currently out atm but the coy fan is still on there is the cpu fan 2 fans on the side of the case then 1 on the back it's fine but when I run games it starts getting very hot I think it's because of the added heat from the gpu and the fans simply cannot push the heat out quick enough would it be worth buying a new cpu cooler
From cooler masters and maybe buying a new case

Even with a stock CPU fan 90c is too high.
