What power bank can charge the HP Spectre x360, if any?

Hello,

So I bought an Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C, because I asked in the comments in Amazon if it can charge my laptop, and they said yes. Well, they were wrong. I googled my question and everybody else said no, which sucks b/c I should've done that before buying the power bank. But I just want to make sure I am right, because one of the results says I can charge it with the Razer power bank, but I'm pretty hesitant to buy it b/c it's only 12,800mAh and costs 200 cad.

mah is the amount of power the batter can hold. a 30,000 man power bank won't help you if it can't push the power strong enough for your laptop to use.

what you need is a power bank that can provide the wattage your laptop charger needs. if you look at the charger it'll have the specs on it saying what voltage and amps it provides. you'll need a power banks that can output it's power at these levels for it to be useful.

a normal one designed for phones/tablets does not need to provide anywhere near the same power output. which is why the one you got did not work for you. it's kind of like the older 1 amp ports vs the new 2.1 amp ports. your fancy new phone that needs the 2.1 amp port won't get much of anything from a 1 amp port. not...

The problem you have is that you need something that can deliver enough to make the laptops charger work. There are a few powerbanks out there that can do this but they cost quite a bit. Not sure what you want to spend on 1 tho.

Also how long does your laptop need to last on battery and what are you doing? You should easily get 5 hours of battery life out of your laptop if you are just using it for light loads. A 12800 mah powerbank will give you another hour and a half max.

Could you possibly give me a list of the power banks that can charge my laptop? I'll see if they fit within my budget.

My battery lasts me the whole day (8:30 am to 2:30pm) if it's in constant use. But I have started going to the library more often, as I cannot study at home because of all the distractions. When I get to the library, my battery is between 30 and 50% left, and I feel like it drains faster when it is below 30%. I'm pretty sure that's normal though. My workload is google drive/classroom, youtube for music w/ headphones, and whatsapp web. I usually have 5-8 pages up at any given time. So light/medium load. The battery is more for a backup for myself, as well as for my friends if they ever need a charge.

Also I'm not sure how the mAh stuff works. I thought because it's 12,800mAh, it should be able to charge my laptop twice, because my laptop is 5000mAh? You don't need to explain this if you don't want to, I'm just curious.

Your laptop is 52500 mah. I'll look for something that can charge your laptop at least halfway.

check out your charger to see what it provides and then see if anyone makes a power bank with those output numbers.

edit: looking at hp, there are a number of possible models for the x360. they come with a 65w, 90w, or 150w power supply depending on specs. not sure any power bank can provide such numbers.

It's probably best to stick with the products made for your device. Here is the HP branded power bank for Spectre branded (and other HP models) laptops. It's called the HP Spectre USB-C™ Power Pack. It has a rating of 20,100 mAh power output, a sleek portable design, and multiple ports so you can even charge your phones and tablets from it. It can be charged using your existing laptop power adapter as well, so no need to carry another plug around with you.

If your device came with a USB-C power adapter already then it's probably a 45-65 watt adapter which means this one should should work fine for adding ~50% more runtime. If it's a bigger model that takes 90 watts then it'll probably still work to charge the batter when powered off, or power the device in a power efficient mode, but not both at the same time. I've included the link to the actual HP store and an amazon link for a better price if you wish to shop around a bit.
