I bought Kingston 2400mhz XMP 2x4GB set of ram and it has different voltages for 2133mhz and 2400mhz XMP profile.
Is there difference between Sandy Bridge processor IMC and Nehalem/Lynnfield (i7-875k) memory controllers?
I have read alot about people killing or damaging theyre Sandy bridge processors but cant find any good suggestion about same thing happening to older processors like i7-875k with higher dram voltages.
These are rated either 1.65v on 2400mhz and 1.6v on 2133mhz, are these safe values for 24/7 use and wont degrade my CPU memory controller? Or should i use 1.6v XMP profile and downclock it to 1866mhz or 1600 with lower voltages?
Thanks in advance
