So i have RX 550 GPU and ATHLON X4 845 CPU and want to update my GPU drivers because all old games(Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, LoL) work really bad on my machine. If anyone knows how to i would be happy. My current driver is 17.7.
Thanks.

Solution
Download new drivers for your graphics card from AMD site (not autodetect or beta drivers) just latest stable drivers (for your operating system) and put those into desktop.
https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Radeon-RX-500-Series-Drivers.aspx

Download DDU from here : http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Boot into safe mode with networking and extract then run DDU, make sure to select AMD drivers from menu and select recommended option clean(recommended), after completing it will boot your computer automatically. Then boot to windows normally and install your new drivers from desktop.

Hi,
Right now is NOT a good time to buy GPU's. They are easily 60 to 80 % more expensive.

If you just get a 1050 ti witch is a bit better than the one you have will cost 150 to 200 $ instead of 100 -150 $ and will be a minor upgrade.

Thew other thing is that the cpu is probably already bottlenecking the gpu right now so this will be even worse with a better card.

Basically, you need to upgrade the whole computer or it is pretty much shooting fish in a barrel .

think he's asking about DRIVERS and not upgrading the card itself.

you have an amd card so you go to amd.com and ask for the drivers. go to this page https://support.amd.com/en-us/download and select for it to either auto-detect what you need for you or manually give it the requested info.

the auto-detect way is a lot easier if you don't know what exactly you have in your machine. it'll do a quick scan and show what you need and then install it for you.

I know my cpu is trash but if games like fortnite, watch dogs can run with good average fps why 2009 game can't?

Hi. Thanks for the detailed informations. Just wanted to ask couple things. You say boot into safe mode, how do i boot windows 10 into safe mode and i read a lot about disconnecting from the internet before deleting old drivers because people say that windows detects that and tries to download by its own, is it true? Please answer these two questions.
p.s. Can i install DDU before booting in safe mode or i need to install it in safe mode? and when im in safe mode how do i get it back in normal?
Sorry for asking a lot but you look like someone that knows these stuff.

1. How to get to safe mode with networking in windows 10 : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
2. DDU disables windows update temporarily from updating Graphics drivers in safe mode. But if you want to you can plug off your network cable from computer to be sure.

So first download the new drivers you want from AMD site and put file to desktop. Then download DDU and move that to desktop, you can extract it in safe mode also but its easier that file is on desktop because of low resolution.
Now boot into safe mode with networking, with or without internet cable plugged off. Extract and run DDU from desktop, be sure its selected AMD and not NVIDIA. Here you can see how it looks : http://cryptomining-blog.com/8693-use-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-to-clean-up-video-drivers/
Press clean and restart (recommended) and let it run to end, it will restart your computer automatically after deleting drivers and boot into normal windows.
Dont worry resolution can be odd looking when your back in windows, then just install your new drivers you already downloaded to desktop.

EDIT: Plug network cable back on after you installed new drivers to be sure

After looking again the question you asked the issue is probably not driver but bad GPU performance, but updating drivers right is good to learn anyway. Now its bad time to buy graphics card because of prize unless your going for older cards like 600 / 700 series. Although those need better PSU, depends what you have.

Thanks for the fast answer. Last question before doing this.
You say extract and run what does that mean? Im planning to download and install DDU in normal windows, download right amd drivers put these 2 in desktop. And you say safe mode with networking why do i need internet when i already have 2 items i need?

DDU comes in first RAR file, extract that, then press DDU v17.0.8.3 and extract that to desktop. After that you have file called Display Driver Uninstaller which is the file you need. It doesnt matter if you use normal safe mode or safe mode with networking.
