I am working with someone's business. They have a new $60k alarm system from Bay Alarm. They had it integrated with some old equipment:

a pair of Aiphone GT external system: https://www.screencast.com/t/Wl5b847jx9D, 2 internally wall mounted Aiphone GT-1As: https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/jmacimg/AIPHONE-GT-1A-2.jpg and electric door locks

The alarm system has 70+ IP cameras, and you can see any of them through "digital watchdog" client software.

Drawback is, if no one is near one of the wall mounted buzzers, the GT-1A, no one presses the buzzer, and they don't get let in.

Looking for better solutions:

1. an alert system, one that could ring an employee's cell phone if someone pressed the door chime, so they would know, and would go to the wall buzzer (GT-1A)

2. or, a way for the security guard to be alerted AND unlock the electric door lock through a remote system.

3. Maybe there should be new equipment all together

I asked the rep, first he said some of this was possible if we get a phone line, then he changed his position, and said it wasn't possible.

With the availability of https://www.doorbird.com/ and devices like it, I thought there should be a way.

Anyone know of a way to set up better visitor notification and maybe even remote door opening?

For a system with 70+ cameras, and for $60k...and the sales rep is NOT licking your toes, you need to talk to that reps boss.

A custom system like that is not really the target for a forum like this.
Any parts/config/service needs to come from them.

And if they won't do it, you need to find a new vendor.
