I was browsing the corsair website for some of their power supplies. I lost the molex (that one wire thing that you hook your rgb strips/fans to) and I can't find anywhere to get a replacement. Also my cx550m is not offered any cable sleeves such as the RM550x psu that I'm thinking about buying. But looking through it I saw that it's "6th gen intel cpu ready"? Is this a marketing thing or what? ( I have an i5 7600k if that matters)

Yes, it most likely is a marketing thing. Go ahead with the Rm550x, it is a good unit. If you want upgradability, go with the 650x.
