cpu: r7 1700x

mbo: crosshair vi hero

gpu: zotac gtx 1070 ti mini

cpu cooler: cryorig h7

ram: g.skill ripjavs 3200mhz

case: corsair 100r windowed

hdd: 1tb wd blue

psu: corsair vengeance 550w

I would say the same. And if you insist to get a high end CPU, I would vote for i7-8700K. It is a better value than 1700X right now, especially that 40$ difference would not only provide slightly better or comparable performance for less cores, but would rather also provide you a much superior single threaded performance. This facilitates a better overall experience IMO.

Since you already have the CPU & MoBo for a good price, then I guess you're good to go.

I would add a 250/500gb ssd and if you're only gaming you could save a bit on on the cpu, go Ryzen 5. Ryzen 7 isn't much of an improvement over 5 unless you're into heavy video editing etc.
