Hello

Recently, I downloaded CyberGhost VPN and it came with a hardware and it was something v9. After that, I went to this site http://forum.thewindowsclub.com/windows-clubhouse/38644-cyberghost-vpn-wont-connect-keeps-diconnecting-my-internet-connection.html, because I wasn't able to use the vpn properly. So I clicked https://swupdate.openvpn.org/communi...ws-9.9.2_3.exe then it downloaded : tap-windows-9.9.2....exe so I opened and installed. After that I found out that my internet was so slow.

Now speedtest.net results - 5 to 35.
Normal speedtest.net results - 38-50.

I ran AVG Antivirus free version and did scanning for performance issues test and it's stucked at 82 and not moving at all for 30 mins.

What should I do? I think it was the installation part that went wrong? maybe? I'm not so sure.. Please help me.

Solution
You installed a VPN. That means that all your data goes to a server and then that server goes out onto the internet and gets the webpages, downloads, etc that you want. To the outside world it looks like you are that server. To your ISP it looks like all you do is talk to that server. And that's why people like VPNs. They make you anonymous and protect your privacy. Here is the issue ... your internet connection is only as fast as the slowest link in the chain. You have introduced a new link in the chain. Turn off the VPN and see if your speeds return.
