Silly questions about graphic drivers

Hi all! I've built a few PCs, but I never switched gpus from one brand to another in the same pc. I recently got a GTX 1080, upgrading from an RX 480. I removed the old card, placed the new one in, uninstalled the old Radeon drivers, and installed the new GeForce drivers. Performance has been really bad, with some games doing better on the RX 480! When I right click on the desktop, it still shows the Radeon settings option (the Nvidia option is there as well). Are the drivers still there? Are they effecting the performance? Thanks!

you should completely remove the old drivers and supporting software before changing the card out to the new brand.

something like DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html is a great way to do it.

i'd boot into safe mode, run the ddu program to remove ALL drivers present, both amd and nvidia, and then reboot. now install the drivers for the 1080 and see how that goes.
