High end pc, skipping frames and mouse lag on home screen

Hey

Recently my pc has started lagging (clear obvious mouse lag on home screen, jumping about) and also when you play games it will skip frames, and also give out audio static when it skips frames.

Anyone help?

System
Windows 10 (on SSD)
Games and apps on 1TB HDD
Motherboard: PRIME Z270-P
Intel i7-7700. 4.2Ghz
Nvidea GTX 1080
16GB Ram
Temps idle - 15-25 degrees
Temps playing graphics heavy game- 45-55 degrees

What has changed??

Possibly you have contracted malware.
Run malwarebytes free edition.

Possibly a windows setting lets Microsoft distribute windows updates via your pc.
Review your privacy settings; there are about a dozen settings you should use the defaults for.


My guess is that windows 10 has pushed out a less than optimal update.
You might want to try reinstalling drivers, particularly the graphics driver.
