Hi everyone I have a gaming pc which is my main pc but my mother gave me a old 2009 MacBook laptop which I wanna use whenever I move around it is stuck on 10.5.8 update and it doesn’t support anything google chrome nope Firefox nope steam nada it’s a pretty low laptop in specs but for Mac I’m not surprised it has 2gn DDR3 ram with intel duo 2 core at 2 ghz can anyone help me resolve my situation with the software? I want to possibly get Mac Sierra but anything that makes me compatible with google chrome and steam thanks!

Is it usable or just stuck in the update? I would recommend Safari. I think I had an '09 at one point. You may need to find a recovery disc. You could even take it to the Apple store and see if they will restore it for you. They often do things for free there. Don't think it will take Sierra but I could be incorrect.

I have a 2009 MacBook (non pro) that runs El Capitan fine so you could at least get it to that. Apple store may even do the upgrade for free if you don't ask them outright for it, just tell them it has been beach balling and crashing and they might offer to install a more modern OS.
