8th Generation Coffee Lake with DDR3 Motherboard???

Hello,

I am at a crossroads because I have purchased the i7-8700k and have DDR3 ram but am unable to find a motherboard that supports it. I am looking for a motherboard under $150 dollars and can't even find one a z370 LGA 1151 Motherboard that uses DDR3 ram and am very disappointed. If anyone has links please send them to me!

I am afraid there is no such thing friend.
there were some sixth generation boards that had DDR3L slots.
you will need DDR4 RAM for that CPU and the memory controller therein

I have decided to go with an i7-7700k any motherboards you recommend to go with ddr3 under $150?

Technically the memory controller in the 6th and 7th gen cpus only support 1.35v DDR3L. Intel warns the 1.5v(and higher) voltages of DDR3 can reduce the lifespan of the cpu.

Only the 1xx series offered boards with ddr3l support(only a few support 1.5v DDR3). The 2xx series are all slotted for DDR4. Also the 1xx series boards require a bios update to work with 7th gen cpus.
