Why won't the PC start, I'm pretty sure everything's plugged in but, the CPU cord from the PSU isn't working.

How come my PC won't fully boot up when the CPU cord from the PSU is plugged into the motherboard. The fans go on for a second then go off. Then, when I unplug it, and try to turn it on, the case's and CPU's fans go on longer, but the GPU's fan goes off after a while. Plus, the computer still doesn't work after unplugging the CPU, or plugging it back in. Hopefully I get the answer soon, so I can play some games like Fortnite on the PC.

Solution
Bent pins in the CPU socket can cause a system to fail to start. You can correct them with a mechanical pencil or razor blade.

If your PC shuts off immediately after starting up:

1. Reseat your RAM and graphics card (if you have one). Try running the PC with no graphics card and one stick of RAM. Try another RAM or PCIe slot.

2. Make sure everything is plugged in. You must have the 4 pin CPU_FAN, 24 pin main, and 8 pin connectors plugged into the motherboard. If you have a graphics card, they must have 6 or 8 pin PCIe connectors plugged in.

3. If you have metal from the case touching the motherboard it will short out and fail to start. One way to check for shorts is run the motherboard on a cardboard box to see if it starts.

4. If there is in incompatibility it will cause boot failure. Give your system specs and we can tell you.
