new asus z270h gaming wont even enter bios

Had a working computer, I pulled some parts out, including an ssd, to make a new one in a new case. I bought a new motherboard, as described, and a new cpu (i5 7500). I plugged everything in, powered it on, and the mobo light indicating boot device error comes on.

The process of getting to bios is basically unresponsive. It went there once after a delay, and then was unresponsive on the Bios screen. Rebooted, plugged bootable Usb into the machine to just install windows over any previous files, and the "boot device problem" usb turns off, but then it doesn't do anything further, doesn't attempt to boot, doesn't go into bios.

What can i do? I'm thinking about just taking the mobo back to Mucrocenter tomorrow, although I'm not looking forward to more computer disassembly. Any help appreciated.

Solution
I would start by removing everything from the motherboard except what you need to get into BIOS, which is:

- 24 pin main connector
- 8 pin CPU connector
- CPU_FAN
- One stick of RAM

Case fans, graphics card, anything PCIe PCI molex whatever, SATA, unplug everything. Use the integrated graphics port on the motherboard. Can you get into BIOS and have it work properly? If so then add things one at a time starting with SATA HDD.

Generally if you cannot get into your BIOS then there is a hardware problem.
