Hi, Long time lurker, first time poster...
My issue is allround weird behaviour of my system recently after upgrading and overclocking a bit... booting was a problem, huge fps drops etc
system specs :
i7 7700k
Hyper 212 evo (yes i know it aint great... but my cpu still maxes out at 70 degrees which is acceptable imo)
Asus GTX 1060 strixx 6gb
Asus z270 prime a
16gb (4x4) hyper x fury ram
2ssd's
3 hdd's
7 case fans (3 140mm 4 120mm)
coolermaster G550m PSU

everything seemed to be running smooth and i was getting great performance across the board...
After installing my final HDD things started to get a lil weird and I first blamed the games, then my drivers, then thought windows cld be acting up... eventually stripped my system to just the cpu , no gpu, no backup drives and just the 1 ssd for boot.
Everything returned to normal again yet I still have weird fps drops in battlefield 1 (cld be due to dice and their constant mess ups lately)...

My question.... could it be my PSU ?? When i use wattage calculator I come to a combined watts of 413 watts.... If i calculate my psu's watts (80% of 550w) it should be managing 440w minimum....

Ive recently removed all overclocks on my cpu but still have a fairly decent OC on my GPU (+30% core voltage, power limit 116%, +202 mhz core clock, +444 mhz memory clock)

its doing my head in and am wondering what you guys think....
any input is greatly appreciated and if necessary I cld provide any and all screenshots ;)
Thnks in advance !

^ tried that ... with all drives installed this made no difference...
On my highest gpu OC (+100% core voltage, +203 mhz core clock and 800mhz memory clock) i completed 3d mark benchmarks and cld game stably. (without my backup drives installed)
As soon as I add all my mechanical hdd's everything gets a bit weird when gaming...

main question is ... shld i get a higher capacity psu ? or is there likely something else going on ?
Ive read a bunch of articles abt how 500w psu shld always be enough for single gpu configurations...
Is this different with kaby lake and for instance in my case 2ssd's and 3 hdd's... and 7 case fans :p

dont rlly have any lying around ;)
thats the whole reason im asking the question :p.
I wanna know if i should fork over 120 bucks for a decent one or not...
Im looking at the Seasonic Focus Plus 550/650/750 platinum. ranging from 110 euro to about 130
Is the coolermaster one really that terrible?? It gets decent reviews... not amazing obviously... but hey ...
