I've got:
CPU : E7400 Overclocked @ 4.0 GHz
RAM : 1+1 GB (2 Sticks) of Kingstone that say on them they run at 1.8 V , Don't know if i'll hepl ..
GPU : I want to install a GeForce 8400gs that i think it's from Palit (That's where the cooler on it is
from) But , the problem i'm getting is when i install it , last time it worked for a while and then it
started just shutting down , no BSOD , no nothing , just a small freeze (1 sec but i had longer
ones) and then it wouldn't turn on , cleared BIOS and everything work ok , till the next shut
down
Mobo : Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L rev 2.0
I know i wrote everything really messy but i can't do it in another way :I

What i think is happening is the components are taking more power than the power supply is giving , overloading it . But i don't know what woltage my PSU needs to have , btw , as a reference the PSU i have now is 400W .
Hopefully you undertood at least smh that i wrote here . Thank you for your time :)

If it is your PSU, it's probably old and starting to fail. 400W is enough, but PSUs don't last forever. If you really want to be extra sure, a 430W - 450W is easily within the same price range. Just make sure it's a reputable brand like EVGA, Corsair, Thermaltake, or Seasonic (there are others, I'm just not sure what they are off the top of my head).

The brands I recommend are EVGA Corsair, Thermaltake, Seasonic, Cooler Master, XFX, and Antec. They all make good PSU's just some like Cooler Master XFX and Antec have been known to have some bad PSU's so stick to a higher end one. Find a PSU you like and look up some reviews and see if there are any reoccurring issues with it.

Sounds like a good choice, should do you well as long as you get one from a good brand.
