Do I need reapply thermal paste?

I installed my processor and the cpu cooler. The cooler had pre applied thermal paste. I installed it and then took it apart. Some paste is on the processor and the cooler. Do I need to remove the old and add new paste?

not planning on overclocking....

I would clean off with alcohol and apply new paste myself, just to ensure no bubbles / optimal seating.

If you don't, it'll probably be fine. If you're not happy with temperatures you can always opt to do it later.
