I just picked up two LG 34UM61-P monitors with a native resolution of 2560x1080. My video card (XFX HD 6870) has 2 mini DP, 2 DIV, and 1 hdmi. When i connect the monitor to the hdmi port, i get the full resolution. When i connect the second monitor to a mini DP port, it maxes out at 1080p resolution. I verified that the cable is rated for 4k resolution. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to upgrade my graphics card?
If this is the case, I would love to hear some suggestions on graphics cards less than about $175. I don't play games, but am starting to do a little bit of video editing - nothing major just youtube videos and tutorials. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

The Mini DP port on this card certainly supports 1440p resolutions, so its probably a signal related issue. In simple cases, a simple restart or two will resolve the lack of detection and fix itself. If not, you may need to go into settings and see if something else is limiting it, like a 75hz or 59hz setting.
