hi there!

I locked through the forums and elsewhere but not getting a clear picture on this issue. I have been recommended getting the Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 for pairing with the new Ryzen 5 2400G CPU as its hits the right budget and specs balance.

But that board doesn't have display port. So I am a little confused about how can I hook this up with a freesync (75hz or 144hz) monitor, since i understand that freesync requires a display port? I found an alternative Gigabyte board that does provide DP (GA-AB350M-D3H or possibly GA-AB350M-DS3H) but I am not sure if its optimized for gaming. Or are their other alternative micro-ATX board I can consider for this config?

Please help!
Thanks very much!

Thanks for quick reply!
The DP was the reason I was considering it, but doing a more detailed comparison, I see that it does have a few more features that could help eg. an additional pci 2.0 slot, crossfire support (though I fail to see how it can help on this board), and an additional fan header:

But considering the track record of Gigabyte re bios software, updates etc, I was wondering if there are any better m-ATX alternatives (Asus?) for this CPU under $100 range?

Thanks!

I have had good experience with Gigabyte products. I have a Z170 board and a H170 mitx board that are both by gigabyte and never had any issue with support or bios updates. I also have an Asus x399 board and love it. I am sure you can find plenty of people that have had issues with Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, and all of the others, it just depends on perspective. Honestly, in the sub $100 range, they are all going to be about the same.

FYI, it was a really good catch on the missing DP port on the board, that is something that I had not thought about with an APU. The addition of a DP would drive my purchase decision if I was in the market for a 2200g/2400g.
