Please help i have sudden fps drops lagging and freezing when i play games like fifa, cod ww2, re7 fallout 4, etc no matter the settings. Sometimes my whole pc freezes and the image changes into distorted colours.

I dont know whats causing it. Cpu and Gpu temps are fine and have also disabled Eist in the bios so that the cpu remains at its full clock speed. GPU temps are around 80c and CPU around 60c.
Gpu drivers are updated to the latest version and i have also tried uninstalling them completely and reinstalling them. There is also a sort of lagging sound coming from the pc cabinet like lagging power sounds when the drops happen.

specs:
gtx 760
i5 4570
msi b85m-g43(mobo)
single stick 8gb ram
corsair cx600 psu
seagate barracuda 1tb hDD

a sort of lagging sound coming from the pc cabinet like lagging power sounds when the drops happen. That can be caused by that HDD.

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.")

Its application specific.
Some will run ok -particular ones not so much.

s master boot record menu in win 10 boot menu in should t appear unless there was an issue starting up last time.

Unfortunately prayers and chkdsk wont give you 60 fps stable. None of these games either very demanding anymore - games like dishonored, la noire, Tomb raider, skyrim. The 760 shouldn...
I love the misuse of the phrase "for no reason"....

"image changes into distorted colors"? Do you mean artifacting? Either way, it sounds like you have a GPU issue. Pull you GPU and run some of the games using your integrated GPU (or a different card if you have one) and see if you still have the issue.

I experienced something similar, which cause was a failing hard drive, before. Please try to run crystal disk on your computer to get an idea of its general condition. A insight into the Event Viewer too , errors filtered to first.

what should i check for in the even viewer ? I downloaded crystaldiskinfo and it says caution which says [C5] Current pending sector count : 672, [C6] Uncorrectable Sector Count : 672

This drive needs replacing.

Event Viewer with System tab , filter for Error level messages. Cant hurt to revise the other ones as well.

After u replaced that drive , the occurrences of the lag should stop. That is your first step. Get all data off it if u can and replace that drive , make a fresh install and test again. I am sure u ll be fine then.

A high uncorrectable sector count doesn't necessarily mean the drive needs replacing. I would be more concerned with a high reallocated sector count, but in either case, I suggest opening a command window (as admin) and running chkdsk /r /f on the drive (this will take a while), then running crystaldisk again after the reboot.

it pretty much does. These sectors fail to relocate and be invalidated by the drive workings. They are already known to the drive and have failed to be invalidated for further use. And most certainly a valid cause for the OP´s problem. UNC is always bad.1650 of them. presuming value is still in hex. 05 param. should have a number also from already relocated ones. If that is 0 the drive is not remapping these properly or cannot do so.

Replace.

"Uncorrectable sectors" is the count of sectors for which data recovery was not successful, not a failed reallocation. Uncorrectable sectors can also be caused by bitrot and is a symptom of overclocked systems as well, even on healthy disks.

In any case, you have nothing to lose by running chkdsk.

back to step 1, hopefully u did a backup of your data before doing that the filesystem check with the surface scan and repair option, usually it tends to do that in worst case scenarios - i still hold to the point that harddrive is toast. usually a bad sign having C5 and C6 display the same amounts.

Probably the B.s.o.D. has an unmountable_boot_volume error message. Which can happen on an already failing drive - usually- tends to cause this. In your case i think it just and general exception bsod since i think it booted back on.

Again = Replace. really.

One thing at a time. First the already discussed part HDD replacement + fresh OS install with the latest drivers from your respective device manufacturers. Then we be updating directx runtime in case a game does not does that by default when it gets installed. Take it for a spin , in the remote case of a bluescreen post the content of the dump using Bluescreen viewer https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html , to get the idea whats causing it.

DirectX Error:

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.")

Driver updates should solve that issue or patches to the game/application - sometimes both - although rarely, unless your using a discontinued product. First things first.

games like dishonored, la noire, Tomb raider, skyrim dont lag as badly as newer games do newer games like cod ww2, re7, ac origins drop to under 10 fps. If my HDD was failing wouldnt every game lag? Also that blue screen wasnt a bsod it was master boot record menu in win 10 i did the chkdsk again and it didnt give me any prob. I currently cant buy a new HDD isnt there any other option ?

The 760 shouldn t hickup within reasonable settings on the others and really not on low. As u said : " fps drops lagging and freezing when i play games like fifa, cod ww2, re7 fallout 4, etc no matter the settings."

Thing is that game is installed somewhere. and its not working as it should. First thing detected. Besides the 760 should not stutter with any on these on low-medium settings with the latest drivers. provided u have them installed. Drivers are free to download and install. HDD is not free nor is the time required to set everything up.

First install the OS of your choice , partitioning the drive during the install. Then copy all relevant data towards the 2nd partition. Install the latest drivers for your devices from the manufacturers page (Chipset etc, Graphics drivers) , update DirectX, and take the machine for a testdrive.

The Drive on amazon, if you have no local retailer, is good enough.

You'd need imaging software such as Acronis Truimage and a second PC to clone the drive. Given the likely high % of corrupted data on your old drive, I strongly recommend you install a fresh copy of windows and any other software on your new drive, then copy the data you want to keep by hand.

I use ninite for installing common software: https://ninite.com/
