Can I use am3+ cooler for am4 (ryzen 5 1600)

I have GELID Solutions Tranquillo rev. 2 from my ols system with FX 8350 AM3+ socket. Mounting looks same as AM4 so could i use it on AM4 with Ryzen 5 1600 and will it perform better then ryzen stock cooler?

Unless it uses the stock AMD system (the plastic brackets with the two tension hooks) you will need a new cooler. I say a new cooler because that one is so old, I doubt they ship AM4 upgrade kits.

you need to order a AM4 mounting bracket for that cooler if there is one. Contact manufacturer.

The included Wraith heatsink is actually pretty good. You should give it a try before using your older heatsink.

If the motherboard does not have AM3 mounting holes, you cannot get a kit from the manufacturer, and it doesn't use the amd clip system you will either have to use the stock cooler or buy a new one.
