Help with Cpu Fan

Hi, im getting the i5 8400 for my pc, i have a hyper evo 212, my question is, im building a new pc for my parents with my old cpu, an i7 2600, can i use the stock fan from the i5 8400 on it? i lost the fan from the i7 2600 when i got the hyper evo

I believe so the mounting should be the same even though there different sockets.
