So my CPU keeps hanging at different points of booting or startup and sometimes even a few moments after startup.
Also the hanging is preceded by a click sound from the CPU similar to the one which occurs when the computer normally shuts down and the fan stops spinning.
My guesses are that it's either a harddisk or PSU issue.
System specs:
Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHz
4gm ram
1 GB GPU
500 GB HD
400 watt PSU (which is 7 years old)
